Sermon February 26, 2012

In grade 7 I got beat up pretty bad by a bunch of grade 8 kids. There was an ‘incident’ involving some grade 8 girls, short story is that I was the  slowest in escaping… I remember staggering around the playground trying find my one shoe that had flown off in the pummeling. The biggest kids in the school were in on this, Blair, Gary, Johnny. Four years later Johnny walked into a gym where I was working out and I sized him up, he wasn’t so big anymore. It was obvious to him and me that I could take him easy. The shoe was on the other foot now! The measure of God’s Kingdom at work in your life is most revealed when you’re at your worst and when you finally get the upper hand. Today Jesus tells a story about two guys inexactly those two places.
