Sermon, Sunday June 28, 2015

When I was in university there was a professional basketball player named Spud Webb who was super short but had serious ‘hops’ as hoop players say now. He was 5’6″ but could dunk a basketball, in fact, he won the NBA dunk contest at least once. “Wow”, we all said, “didn’t see that coming!” The kingdom of heaven is like Spud Webb, what you see is NOT what you get! There’s way more to this story than what meets the eye.

Sermon, Sunday June 28, 2015 – Andrew Allison Matthew 13

Sermon Study Questions:

Matthew 13:31-32

  1. Describe a time when something small surprised you by how big it got or how much impact it had.
  2. How is the Kingdom of Heaven like a mustard seed?
  3. Trees were and are super important in Israel, especially healthy trees that can survive drought and be home to little creatures. Have you experienced  Jesus and His church to be anything like a healthy tree? Tell of a time that was the case.
  4. What ‘unlikely’ or ‘improbable’ venture or prayer might God be planting in you or your group these days? Pray together over those tiny seeds.
