Sermon Study Questions: Jeremiah 29:1-14

  1. Jeremiah’s letter was written to the ‘exiles’ in Babylon. Explain what an ‘exile’ is.
  2. Is it possible that you’ve been or currently are an exile? Make your case.
  3. These exiles wanted out but God’s Word through Jeremiah was a different message. Unpack God’s 7 point plan for the exiles staying beginning with “build houses”…
  4. Instead of running away consider how our LORD might be telling you to ‘stay and mature’ in your current exile.
  5. God promises prosperity to those who obey. What does God-prosperity look like?
  6. “I will be found by you” has to be one of God’s greatest promises to us. How have you experienced seeking and finding the Living God in your life?
